Scientifically Speaking is a virtual event series designed to highlight JAX's distinctive combination of research, education and resources and our role in empowering the biomedical community to improve the future of human health. Content is intended to be accessible and engaging for all audiences.
The advent of machine learning has empowered researchers to analyze vast amounts of data, easily identifying trends and patterns, and optimize the most promising research paths. In this next installment of "Scientifically Speaking," predoctoral associate Jaycee Choi is a Ph.D. candidate using these tools to assess cognitive function in mice. Her work could transform our approach to metabolic disease, neuropsychiatric conditions, aging and Alzheimer's disease.
Choi will be joined by moderator and Senior Scientific Curator, Heidi Fisher, Ph.D., who is currently studying the genetics of addiction behavior. The two will discuss how mouse behavior offers insight on human behavior, and will highlight JAX's efforts to better understand the forces that influence our habits. In honor of World Mental Health Day, we invite you to join us and learn more about the significance of this vital research.
